Build Your Project On Something Solid: Integrity, Quality, and Ingenuity

Sunroom addition

New vinyl addition with a cathedral ceiling and deck

A portion of an existing deck was removed from the house. A 14' x 16' x 5' deep crawl space was excavated to accommodate the frost line in Pennsylvania (location of the job). A gable roof was framed to form a cathedral ceiling containing recessed lighting and two skylights. The shingles were matched and woven in to the existing roof to make a flawless transition. Rebuilding the deck with a new surface, steps, and railing, completed the job.

The Gardens at Eastside

Pergolas / Arbors

These three pergolas were built to customer spec for overall size and height. We added a little design to the ends for visual appeal. The lattice on top provides a little more shade for the residents. The corner arbor has a large overhang to provide more shade while keeping the under-structure closer to the building.

Second story bathroom and sewing room addition

Brick addition in the Earle Historic District

This is a second story 26' x 12' master bath and sewing room addition build over an existing family room. The entire addition was built without disturbing the interior of the house throughout the course of the project. The floor structure was newly constructed within the old roof/ceiling structure to provide for optimum ceiling height and strength. The exterior brick on the front of the addition was re-used from the old exterior wall of the house that borders the addition. The roof was constructed to identically match the shape of the existing house roof. The home owner's bathroom remodeling ideas were brought to life with only minor changes to the original plan.

Gazebo shaped sunroom

Historic district addition with porch and recessed hot tub

A smaller rectangular screened porch was removed from the house. Additional brick piers were made to support the new perimeter of the room. The roof was designed by Solid Construction so that it would not interfere with the bedroom window on the left while complementing the shape of the room. The ceiling is made of bead-board material and attached to the underside of the ceiling joists to provide for a cathedral ceiling effect. The deck design allowed the hot tub to be sunk down in while providing a landing area around the sunroom.
